
ABOUT
Jimena Caballero is a songwriter, singer, and pianist from Mexico City, listed as one of the “100 Women to Watch” in Mexico by Forbes, as well as Forbes “100 Most Creative Mexicans in the World.”
Jimena has shared the stage with artists such as Herbie Hancock, Lang Lang, Armando Manzanero and Natalia Lafourcade, in addition to the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra. Her music has been featured in different media, such as "The Young and the Restless", the Fasma Cine series "Panzas Verdes" and the Amazon film “Cancelados”, among others.
She is currently adapting the Scholastic novel Esperanza Rising into a musical with her writing partner Emma Corday. Together, they were selected for the ASCAP Foundation’s Musical Theatre Librettists Workshop, the Johnny Mercer Songwriters Group, and the 2025 Writers Grove at Goodspeed. Most recently, they received the ASCAP Foundation’s 2024 Harold Adamson Lyric Award for Musical Theatre.
Jimena works at Kraft-Engel Management, a leading agency for film, TV, and theatre music.
In 2017, she was granted a merit-based scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude in May, 2021. Since then, she has received different awards, such as the Pat Pattison Award in Songwriting, the Jack Maher Award for Outstanding Achievement in Songwriting, and the Mili Bermejo Scholarship for Voice. She has also been a recipient of the Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation Award on two occasions, through which she was invited to the 20th Latin Grammy Awards as scholar ambassador in Las Vegas.
Jimena is a strong advocate for Mexico and its culture, and believes in all the great things that Latin America has to offer. She strives to get more Latin women representation in the world of music. Jimena’s spark and passion for life is contagious, and she hopes to share it with listeners all over the world.
